James attended Oxford University in England as a Rhodes Scholar and graduated with a degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics (M.A. with Honours) in 1985. He was admitted as a Solicitor in England & Wales in 1991 and as an attorney to the Bermuda Bar in 1993.
He was a Managing Director of Renaissance Capital, an emerging markets investment bank, from 2008 until 2012. Prior to that, he was a partner of Appleby for eleven years. He joined Appleby in 1993 and was a Team Leader of the Funds & Investment Services Team. Before Appleby, he was employed in the Corporate Department of Freshfields Law Firm, and worked in their London, New York, and Hong Kong offices.
James acts as a non-executive director of several funds and companies. He became a Notary Public in 1998.
James is a founding shareholder, non-executive Director, and Chairman of Saylus Global.
Roderick White serves as an independent director on a wide range of alternative investment funds, family offices and operating companies. Mr. White currently works at WhiteCap Ltd., which he formed to provide directorship services after spending 10 years at Equinoxe, a global hedge fund administration firm, where he was a member of the Executive Management Committee and Regional CEO.
Mr. White also worked as a Group Manager at JP Morgan Hedge Fund Services in Bermuda.
Preceding his time in Bermuda, he was part of a private enterprises management team and helped redefine the company’s business strategy resulting in lower risk and higher growth. Mr. White earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Acadia University and his Chartered Professional Accountant designation from the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada while working at Deloitte.
Stuart is an entrepreneur and investor in people. He is a founder and director of Dreamlab Finance an investment company targeting start-up companies at an angel/venture capital level and those with growth finance needs. Previously he was Chairman of Equinoxe Alternative Investment Services, a Global Hedge Fund Administration business with over 100 employees and over $20bn in Assets under Administration.
Prior to Equinoxe he founded Tranaut Fund Administration, also a Global Hedge Fund Administration business, in 1999. After building the business for five years in three global locations the business was sold to JPMorgan and it became the cornerstone of their hedge fund servicing operations. Stuart continued as Managing Director with JPMorgan helping to grow the business in all regards for a further three years prior to joining Equinoxe.
Stuart has acted as a consultant, advising on business structure, governance and procedures, and acted as an expert witness. He has invested in several start-up businesses as a founding shareholder; these businesses included electric vehicle technology; a golf course development; social media technology.
Grant has over 8 years’ experience working in the Mine Action Industry having previously served as Business Development Manager for one of the largest mine action service providers to the United Nations.
As the Managing Director, Grant is responsible for delivering a wide range of services both to the Commercial and Humanitarian sectors, with focus on strategic planning and growth, whilst retaining overall responsibility for all facets of Saylus Global.
Marc has over a decade of experience leading Explosive Threat Mitigation projects in post conflict areas across the world, most recently concluding five years as Task Order Leader delivering a $200 million weapons remediation project in Iraq on behalf of U.S. Department of State.
As Chief Operating Officer, Marc is responsible for optimising Saylus Global’s operational capability to enable successful project implementation in support of humanitarian, government, and commercial clients.
